Christmas came…late!
Remember how I asked Santa for a camera for Christmas?
He didn’t bring one! Mainly because Santa (me) couldn’t decide on what to get. I struggled, stay with a point and shoot, or move into the DSLR world!
Well, Santa finally brought me a camera and it was worth the wait! I got it on Friday and played with it all weekend. So much fun!
Let me recap the process…
I have had two point and shoots in the last 8 years, both Olympus and I loved them. They both came to an untimely end when I dropped them and they no longer worked, boo hoo!
I borrowed a friend’s DSLR and decided I just can’t be trusted to make that many decisions on how to take a picture. Setting shutter speed, aperture, aaaaah!
Then I discovered the Olympus Pen Mini, E-PM1.
I think I’m in love!!!!!
It has all the familiarity of my previous Olympus Point and Shoots but it has the enhanced image quality and manual settings (when I want them) of a DSLR. It has funky art settings (like the grainy one above I used taking a picture of my daughter), excellent video quality, and is small unlike the larger DSLRs I have researched. I don’t fully understand photography and how cameras work but this camera is part of the micro four thirds family which is a mirrorless cousin to the DSLR allowing it to feel more like a point and shoot in size but with the ability to buy different lenses to increase image capabilities.
Here’s a few pictures I took this weekend with my new camera…
I snapped this first thing this morning after my daughter woke up , she wasn’t as amused as she looks!
Hopefully you will enjoy the photos to come!
