Easy Semolina Flats
Need some super fast and tasty flatbread for dinner tonight?
These can be made in 30 minutes Start to Finish!
How you ask?
Fleischmann’s Pizza Crust Yeast.
Semolina Flatbread
1 3/4 c. semolina flour
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. warm water
1 packet Fleischmann’s Pizza Yeast
1/2 t. salt
egg for egg wash
various toppings -poppy seeds, Fleur de Sel, Havarti cheese slices broken up
In the bowl of a stand mixer combine the yeast, warm water, flours and salt.
Knead with the dough hook on medium low-speed for about 5 minutes until it forms a slightly tacky ball of dough.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit while doing the next steps.
On a floured work surface, roll into a thick snake and cut into 4 equal pieces.
Form each piece into a small ball and roll out to about a 6 to 8 inch circle.
Beat the egg with 1 to 2 tablespoons of water and brush this wash lightly on each round.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds and/or Fleur de Sel and even better…
the Havarti cheese pieces.
My favorite was the havarti cheese pieces with some Fleur de Sel on top!
Bake for 5 to 7 minutes.
Serve warm with some fresh fruit as a snack!
Cut them into slices and serve them with dinner.
They are quick and the semolina is a nice nutty flavor.
